The degree of

Master of Library and Information Science

Virtual Convocation
2020

PROFILE

Current residence: Los Angeles, CA, US

I wanted to earn a masters degree because:

I work in a public library. I believe becoming a librarian was the logical next step of progression from my current position as a library clerk.

While earning my degree, my greatest supporters were:

My dogs. I am not kidding. I was spending a lot more time at home while I was attending the SJSU MLIS online program, and my dogs enjoyed the extra time i was pending with them even though I was using my laptop most of the time.

While in the program, I met classmates from:

I worked with classmates that lived nearby to my Los Angeles, CA home to working with a student employed by an American school in Russia. I collaborated with a student in Ontario, Canada to all time zones in the USA.

What I liked best about online learning was:

Not having to waste time and money driving to school and finding a place to park my car.

What I enjoyed most about my experience at the SJSU School of Information was:

That my brain still functioned, and I was able to successfully complete the SJSU MLIS program.

I plan to use my degree to:

Become a librarian. i would like to become an academic librarian at a nearby Los Angeles based college or university, but am willing to start off being a librarian at the first library that hires me.

Now that I have completed the program, I'm most looking forward to:

Working in a library as librarian, and the future possibilities that lie ahead as a librarian.
