PROFILE

Current residence: Portland, OR, US

I wanted to earn a masters degree because:

I realized the extent of my love of cultural preservation and providing the service of its access.

While earning my degree, my greatest supporters were:

My husband, my grandmother, and my parents. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

While in the program, I met classmates from:

All over the country (and Canada!) and with many different plans on using their degrees going forward. I’m eager to see how we step up and accept the torch.

What I liked best about online learning was:

I loved being able to do schoolwork in the cracks of my life. I put time in after work, but also on the bus and even in a limo driving to my brother’s wedding! That flexibility also extended to our educators, most of whom have day jobs, meaning we received up-to-date, contextual commentary on our lessons.

What I enjoyed most about my experience at the SJSU School of Information was:

It’s an excellent, work-focused curriculum. I loved learning the fundamentals as well as how to apply them.

I plan to use my degree to:

We’ll see where it takes me, but I’m eager to preserve and provide access to cultural resources.

Now that I have completed the program, I'm most looking forward to:

Getting to work!
