I knew that being a librarian would combine a lot of my strengths.
While earning my degree, my greatest supporters were:
My husband and 3 children were big cheerleaders for me. They stepped up to keep everything running, while I was busy working. My SJSU cohort of teacher librarians have been a great lifeline throughout this process as well.
While in the program, I met classmates from:
Most classmates were from across California, but many were in other parts of the country and even some in Europe.
What I liked best about online learning was:
I enjoyed the flexibility to be able to continue working and be available for my family without having to pay for childcare to attend classes.
What I enjoyed most about my experience at the SJSU School of Information was:
I learned a lot and feel ready for a great career.
I plan to use my degree to:
I plan to continue in my current role as a teacher librarian.
Now that I have completed the program, I'm most looking forward to:
I am enjoying having the chance to apply what I have learned. The closures because of Covid-19 are providing challenges and make me excited for returning to the library again. I also plan to continue taking electives beyond graduation. There are so many interesting courses for which I didn't have time.
