The degree of

Master of Library and Information Science

Virtual Convocation
2020

PROFILE

Current residence: Watsonville, CA, US

I wanted to earn a masters degree because:

I have been working in libraries for several years. The master's degree would give me a better background and insight into what professional librarianship entails and the different areas and focuses that exist within libraries. I wanted to increase my knowledge in libraries and, more specifically, in information organization.

While earning my degree, my greatest supporters were:

My parents and sisters,
my partner, Juan,
my adorable dog, Chispa, who was there on my side those late nights,
& my coworkers.

While in the program, I met classmates from:

all over the United States

What I liked best about online learning was:

The flexibility and ability to take school with me wherever I was.

What I enjoyed most about my experience at the SJSU School of Information was:

Expanding my knowledge on information retrieval and organization and learning from professors that have experience in the area.

I plan to use my degree to:

Use my experience and knowledge to continue to organize and catalog the world's information in a library.

Now that I have completed the program, I'm most looking forward to:

Relaxing a bit and excited to see the doors that will open with the master's degree.
