PROFILE

Current residence: Farlington, KS, US

I wanted to earn a masters degree because:

To further my education in an advanced field in Law Librarianship and emerging technologies. I also love learning new advancements in the fields of information literacy and taxonomy so I can teach those who need help with these fields which are growing at an alarming rate.

While earning my degree, my greatest supporters were:

My son Dalton was my biggest supporter. He encouraged me all the way through the program and still encourages me through any goals I set my mind to.

While in the program, I met classmates from:

I met Erin W. in Vocabulary design who I became fast friends with and spent many a late night working on team projects. She was an inspiration and an intelligent young lady. I also want to give credit to a young lady who I met in Info 204. She always pushed me to do my best and kept my spirits up, her name is Megan M. Both wonderful young ladies who I admire.

What I liked best about online learning was:

I loved being able to work at my own pace and turn in my projects at any time of the day or night. Although, sometimes it was a bit stressful it always worked out in the end because I always had support from my professor's and peers to give me confidence that I was on the right track.

What I enjoyed most about my experience at the SJSU School of Information was:

I enjoyed learning the new technologies and platforms necessary for our present learning environments. Being able to enhance my information literacy skills as well as my taxonomy and coding skills are valuable skills that will serve me well in my future career in teaching information literacy as well as in Law Librarianship.

I plan to use my degree to:

Teach information literacy to law students, and all students in general. I will use my coding and technology skills to their utmost and continue to learn new platforms and skills especially in the legal industry and emerging technology's in order to advance my librarian skills to their utmost.

Now that I have completed the program, I'm most looking forward to:

Advancing my career into a leadership position and be the best I can be, as well as helping those who want to become librarians and give people hope, especially those in diverse cultures who need the confidence to believe they can be part of the information science industry.
