The degree of

Master of Library and Information Science

Virtual Convocation
2020

PROFILE

Current residence: Norfolk, VA, US

I wanted to earn a masters degree because:

I enjoy helping others and libraries put you on the front lines of the public, so you can create book displays or programing based on a communities needs just from a single interaction. A master's degree will help me reach that goal by having the ability to learn exactly what makes a librarian

While earning my degree, my greatest supporters were:

my family, my friends, and my coworkers within library land

While in the program, I met classmates from:

all around the world

What I liked best about online learning was:

having the ability to work around my schedule

What I enjoyed most about my experience at the SJSU School of Information was:

learning about the different pathways or concentrations and librarian may follow

I plan to use my degree to:

become a teen librarian or a branch manager, and to create more mental wellness or social awareness programming

Now that I have completed the program, I'm most looking forward to:

having more time to work on my writing and using my research skills to learn more about my interests and hobbies
