Current residence: Fresno, CA, US

I wanted to earn a masters degree because:

I wanted to bridge the gap between public libraries and the underserved or underrepresented communities. Also, I believe in educating and sharing my knowledge with different communities to improve their lives and the lives of future generations.

While earning my degree, my greatest supporters were:

my Mom, Xe, Ivy, Paul, Mai, Deborah, Sandra, Quynh Tram, my family, friends, colleagues, and mentors.

While in the program, I met classmates from:

all over the United States, including my hometown.

What I liked best about online learning was:

the flexibility. I do not have to worry about traveling and could access my courses where ever there is free WiFi.

What I enjoyed most about my experience at the SJSU School of Information was:

the professors, electives, and peers. It feels great to have gained some friends that express interest in libraries.

I plan to use my degree to:

become librarian in Adult Services or Community Services.

Now that I have completed the program, I'm most looking forward to:

put my knowledge and skills into practice, participate in collaborative efforts to address diversity, inclusion, and equity, design programs and services that are reflective of the community I serve, advocating for social justice in libraries, serve on committees, practicing my cross-cultural competency skills, and start a mentorship program in my city.
