The degree of

Master of Library and Information Science

Virtual Convocation
2022

PROFILE

Current residence: Seaside, CA, US

I wanted to earn a masters degree because:

Getting an advanced degree is a dream I've always had. Becoming a librarian is a dream I didn't know I had until a few years ago. Combining the two into the MLIS program was the perfect next step

While earning my degree, my greatest supporters were:

My fiance, who never let me procrastinate on homework. My sisters (despite their attempts to encourage my procrastination). My parents, who always support me and are my biggest cheerleaders. My boy Kylo who was the best lap snake a girl could hope for and kept me company during Zooms.

While in the program, I met classmates from:

All over the US and beyond. We definitely had one gal from eastern Europe who had to stay up until very late at night for our group zoom meetings

What I liked best about online learning was:

The flexibility of the course structuring

What I enjoyed most about my experience at the SJSU School of Information was:

The enthusiasm of the professors and the top quality research materials through the King Library

I plan to use my degree to:

serve students at the Santa Catalina School

Now that I have completed the program, I'm most looking forward to:

Getting older, wearing cardigans and shushing people
