The degree of
Master of Library and Information Science
Virtual Convocation
2022
PROFILE
Current residence: Poplar Ridge, NY, US
I wanted to earn a masters degree because:
I was already employed as the director of a small rural library and realized there was so much I did not know about how to do this job. I have been so excited to put my new skills into practice!
While earning my degree, my greatest supporters were:
My family.
While in the program, I met classmates from:
As close as someone in my own library system, moving across the country to California, and a couple who were living abroad. It was great to make connections and find out what is going on in libraries around the world.
What I liked best about online learning was:
I loved that I could move through the courses when it worked into my schedule well. My experience with Zoom was immediately put to use after March 2020 when library programs needed to go virtual and I needed to use teletherapy as a means of providing speech therapy services.
What I enjoyed most about my experience at the SJSU School of Information was:
Learning to be proficient using various forms of technology that I found daunting previous to participating in this program.
I plan to use my degree to:
I will continue to work in my position of library director and hope to move the library into a bigger and better location.
Now that I have completed the program, I'm most looking forward to:
Margaret Wachenfeld: Congratulations Lisa!
