PROFILE

Current residence: San Diego, CA, US

I wanted to earn a masters degree because:

I already have a PhD in a liberal arts field, and when the pandemic hit, I knew that I would need to pivot to a more practical skill set. I have been working in libraries for over a decade, and this program was a great choice for me. I got a job after three semesters.

While earning my degree, my greatest supporters were:

My husband and our two cats.

While in the program, I met classmates from:

New York, Nigeria, Singapore, Canada, and Japan.

What I liked best about online learning was:

It was easy to fit it in with my full-time job. I really appreciated that flexibility.

What I enjoyed most about my experience at the SJSU School of Information was:

My ability to customize the program to my interests. I really loved some of the history and archive classes, for example.

I plan to use my degree to:

Continue working in public libraries, and maybe move into academic ones one day.

Now that I have completed the program, I'm most looking forward to:

Having a homework-free summer. :-)
