The degree of

Master of Library and Information Science

Virtual Convocation
2022

PROFILE

Current residence: Rancho Cucamonga, CA, US

I wanted to earn a masters degree because:

I was originally just going to do the Teacher Librarian Credential but upon seeing that the MLIS was only an additional 12 credit hours, I figured I might as well complete the Masters.

While earning my degree, my greatest supporters were:

Dr. Harlan and Dr. L. Dr. L taught me a lot that I was able to apply to my classes as a teacher immediately and Dr. Harlan was super supportive even before I was officially in the program.

While in the program, I met classmates from:

Mostly California but had some classmates in Massachusetts.

What I liked best about online learning was:

I did not have to move anywhere to pursue the degree. I was able to keep my job and not have to worry about finding a new one or a place to live.

What I enjoyed most about my experience at the SJSU School of Information was:

Learning new genres to read that I did not consider before.

I plan to use my degree to:

Become a Teacher Librarian but would one day like to work for a zoo in their education department.

Now that I have completed the program, I'm most looking forward to:

How I can continue to apply what I have learned in the school I currently work at.
