I wanted to continue my education in a field that I knew would provide me with various options for the future but would also let me be connected to something that I love dearly.
While earning my degree, my greatest supporters were:
My partner, his family, my family and my friends. Everyone supported me, cheered me on, and dealt with me on the days that were rougher than others while I worked full-time and completed my degree.
While in the program, I met classmates from:
I met people from all over the world from China to Africa and all over the US. It was amazing to be able to meet people from all different cultures and see all of these different viewpoints in a shared space.
What I liked best about online learning was:
I loved being able to be flexible with my time. I needed to work full-time while completing this degree, so it was necessary to have that flexibility to succeed.
What I enjoyed most about my experience at the SJSU School of Information was:
Despite being an online degree there is still a sense of community and there are always people there to help you. I made friends through my time at SJSU and I still keep in touch with them on a regular basis. While we might be thousands of miles apart, we are more connected than ever.
I plan to use my degree to:
I plan to pursue work in the digital side of information science either through database management or cataloging or digital librarianship.
Now that I have completed the program, I'm most looking forward to:
I am looking forward to being able to read that giant stack of books I've been putting off for a few years! I'm also looking forward to sharing the benefits of a degree in library and information science and showing that it is not just meant for one single field but can be useful in any number of fields.
