PROFILE

Current residence: Los Angeles, CA, US

I wanted to earn a masters degree because:

it sets a standard for my children and for the generations that come after them. As a first-generation student I want to be a testimony to other students that achieving a Masters is possible with the right support system.

While earning my degree, my greatest supporters were:

my parents, close friends and my mentors.

While in the program, I met classmates from:

all over the world that had similar goals and objectives like myself and whom I was able to meet in a couple of conferences.

What I liked best about online learning was:

that I had the flexibility but also the challenge to become disciplined and create a schedule and a routine that worked best around my life.

What I enjoyed most about my experience at the SJSU School of Information was:

the support from many alumni and the staff. I was acknowledged when I received a scholarship and I felt that I could approach the staff if I had any questions or concerns.

I plan to use my degree to:

help and give back to my community while at the same time providing for my family and setting an example for my children.

Now that I have completed the program, I'm most looking forward to:

looking for full-time jobs where I can fit in and give back to my community by applying the skills that I have gained through the SJSU Masters program.
