Master of Library and Information Science
Virtual Convocation
2021
PROFILE
Current residence: Shelbyville, KY, US
I wanted to earn a masters degree because:
To improve my knowledge and skills in order to advance my library.
While earning my degree, my greatest supporters were:
James, my husband, I could not have completed this without him by my side.
My mom, Meg, the strongest woman I know, taught me never to give up.
April, my sister, the smartest woman I know, who I always strive to be like.
My friends and the staff of the Shelby County Public Library, who all helped me along the way.
While in the program, I met classmates from:
All across the United States and Canada.
What I liked best about online learning was:
The opportunity to work around my schedule since I worked full time.
What I enjoyed most about my experience at the SJSU School of Information was:
The variety of classes provided and people encountered. The class Issues in Public Libraries was incredibly insightful and offered valuable information about current issues public libraries are facing and relevant solutions.
I plan to use my degree to:
Ensure my library is meeting the needs of the community and providing equitable services in all aspects.
Now that I have completed the program, I'm most looking forward to:
Reading more books and creating some new paintings!
