The degree of

Master of Library and Information Science

Virtual Convocation
2021

PROFILE

Current residence: Orinda, CA, US

I wanted to earn a masters degree because:

I had already worked for the San Jose Public Library system for nine years and I wanted to be qualified for a librarianship as a possible career path.

While earning my degree, my greatest supporters were:

My now fiancé, Adam, who has always been there before, during, and after. Also, my SJPL greatly inspired and encouraged me in the beginning.

While in the program, I met classmates from:

Different levels and areas of experience that made me realize the versatility of the MLIS.

What I liked best about online learning was:

I was able to study and work with my own schedule, taking quizzes when was most convenient to me.

What I enjoyed most about my experience at the SJSU School of Information was:

The variety of electives that gave me a wider knowledge of the library and informational world.

I plan to use my degree to:

Either work closely in the public library setting or with managing collections or digital archiving.

Now that I have completed the program, I'm most looking forward to:

Keeping up with what’s new and upcoming in the library and digital information world.
