PROFILE
Current residence: Oakland, CA, US
I wanted to earn a masters degree because:
I am passionate about academic librarianship. I am passionate about helping students and I understand the value and responsibility that a college library has to their campus community.
While earning my degree, my greatest supporters were:
JESUS, always.
My mother (my best friend) Maria Annette Hornage.
My loving family!
My amazing group of friends!
And so many others that have cheered me on, encouraged me, and prayed for me.
While in the program, I met classmates from:
all over the world!
What I liked best about online learning was:
the ability to work full-time and complete coursework from anywhere by using my cell phone, laptop or tablet.
What I enjoyed most about my experience at the SJSU School of Information was:
the countless discussion posts we had to participate in. At times it felt rather tiresome, but it was a great way to learn from each other and be open to the perspectives of others by debating or sharing similar thoughts.
Also, I enjoyed being challenged in my courses through assignments, projects, research papers, etc.
And..... being surrounded by other library enthusiasts!
I plan to use my degree to:
work in an academic library as a reference/instruction librarian.
Now that I have completed the program, I'm most looking forward to:
a career in academic librarianship, expanding my professional network, and supporting students (patrons) with their information seeking needs.
CELEBRATING this accomplishment with my family and friends :)
