PROFILE

Current residence: Orange, CA, US

I wanted to earn a masters degree because:

I was inspired to pursue my degree by my supervisors back at Robert E. Kennedy Library at California Polytechnic University San Luis Obispo. I am incredibly grateful to all of them for the guidance and support.

While earning my degree, my greatest supporters were:

My family, for always providing unconditional love and support in all that I have done and will ever do.
My friends, for being an amazing pillar of support in all my endeavors: personal and professional.
And my coworkers who have pushed and supported me to pursue this career path.

While in the program, I met classmates from:

Everywhere! I was honestly incredibly happy to have the opportunity to collaborate with so many people.

What I liked best about online learning was:

The convenience of having online classes was a unique experience coming out of my undergraduate degree. It coincidentally also prepared me very well for the transition to remote schooling that the world has experienced due to the pandemic. Although it has its own shortcomings, I am grateful for the experience it has provided me.

What I enjoyed most about my experience at the SJSU School of Information was:

The guidance provided by all staff and professors throughout my time at SJSU has been second to none. I will carry their insight and teachings as I move forward!

I plan to use my degree to:

Make a difference in the information environment and help support and guide new researchers in their pursuits. My current goals are to participate in an academic library setting and provide research support as well as hold information literacy seminars to promote healthy relationships with the information we interact with everyday.

Now that I have completed the program, I'm most looking forward to:

All the open doors ahead of me! As someone who is relatively young within the field, I am a little intimidated to finally take my first steps; however, I feel that I have been adequately prepared for the challenges ahead of me.
