PROFILE

Current residence: Stanley, NY, US

I wanted to earn a masters degree because:

I wanted to be able to advance in the workforce and I be able to contribute to a field in whose values I believe strongly. Libraries have always been there for me, so it was only natural for me to grow up to be a librarian.

While earning my degree, my greatest supporters were:

My husband Jarret, my children Frankie Rose, Riley, Molly, Jack, Reagan, and Henry. My parents Frank and Kim Spillers, Michael and Anne Marie Gormley, Larry and Jean Winum, and my brother Mick and his wife Liz. I am especially indebted to my mentor Jennifer Morris Spates, and my colleagues Dr. Nancy Marksbury, April Higgins, Linda Park, and Hilda Mannato.

While in the program, I met classmates from:

All over the country!

What I liked best about online learning was:

Flexibility.

What I enjoyed most about my experience at the SJSU School of Information was:

Learning how to be a better researcher and learning about the values of librarianship.

I plan to use my degree to:

Be a librarian!

Now that I have completed the program, I'm most looking forward to:

Not having homework anymore.
