The degree of

Master of Library and Information Science

Virtual Convocation

PROFILE

Current residence: North Hollywood, CA, US

I wanted to earn a masters degree because:

I've wanted to be a librarian for my whole life and one needs a masters degree to do that. In addition, the statistics for how many (few) people obtain a masters presented a challenge to me. I wanted to excel and be one of the few who were able to do that.

While earning my degree, my greatest supporters were:

My wife Stacy, my life-long friend Amantha, my newer good friend Mona.

While in the program, I met classmates from:

Australia, Saudi Arabia, and all over the United States.

What I liked best about online learning was:

It fit into my life very well in that I could keep my full-time job and study at the same time. There were deadlines, but I could do the work when I had time instead of needing to be in a classroom at specific times.

What I enjoyed most about my experience at the SJSU School of Information was:

The support of the professors. They seem to share the sentiment that graduate school is about learning over earning a certain grade. Overall, they were very approachable when I had questions.

I plan to use my degree to:

Either work in a public library or work in employment training.

Now that I have completed the program, I'm most looking forward to:

Getting a job using my new degree!
