The degree of

Master of Library and Information Science

Virtual Convocation
2021

PROFILE

Current residence: Cypress, CA, US

I wanted to earn a masters degree because:

I wanted to start a career in librarianship and archives.

While earning my degree, my greatest supporters were:

My friends and family.

While in the program, I met classmates from:

Both the MLIS and MARA programs located throughout the U.S.

What I liked best about online learning was:

I was able to create a highly flexible schedule.

What I enjoyed most about my experience at the SJSU School of Information was:

My top 3 experiences at SJSU were the time I spent on research projects, working on group projects, and learning to code. I thoroughly enjoyed learning about my research topics and the way it fueled my love of learning. I was pleasantly surprised by my experiences working in teams and would gladly work with any of those classmates in the future. I was also pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed learning to code and the satisfaction of creating a website.

I plan to use my degree to:

Build a career in either digital librarianship or a digital archive, and using my skills to strengthen the field overall.

Now that I have completed the program, I'm most looking forward to:

Starting a career in a field for which I have a true passion.
