PROFILE

Current residence: Albuquerque, NM, US

I wanted to earn a masters degree because:

I wanted to improve my knowledge base and support the learning of my students as well as the services I provide my school and community.

While earning my degree, my greatest supporters were:

My greatest supporters through this journey were my husband Danny, my sons Donovan and Luke, my classmate Jenny, and my father, my brother, and the presence of my mother. I could not have done it without you guys, from cooking dinners, carrying my 40-pound backpack up the stairs, answering questions about class, and just listening, you all helped me make this achievement possible.

While in the program, I met classmates from:

All over the world, and some who were neighbors.

What I liked best about online learning was:

The flexibility to work around my family and career schedule was probably the best thing about learning online. It allowed me the freedom to do classwork during lunch while at work and in bed after my sons went to sleep.

What I enjoyed most about my experience at the SJSU School of Information was:

I loved how every class challenged me to do my best and how they exposed me to new information and ways of thinking. Each class and professor gave me the opportunity to learn new skills and finetune those I already had.

I plan to use my degree to:

Continue working as a youth librarian and expand my work with special populations.

Now that I have completed the program, I'm most looking forward to:

Teasing my family about being free of homework obligations while they are studying for tests and working on papers.
