PROFILE
Current residence: Bonita, CA, US
I wanted to earn a masters degree because:
I was inspired by my fellow coworkers in the library field. i spent a lot of time during my high school days hanging out at teen programs and getting items from my local library, which led me to getting to know the staff. After some time, I became a volunteer and after that a part time worker. i love helping people find something great to read or connecting them with the appropriate resource.
While earning my degree, my greatest supporters were:
My family and my coworkers. i easily stress out and knowing my family and my coworkers, some who went through the program themselves, had my back made everything more manageable.
While in the program, I met classmates from:
all over the world and all sorts of background. i had one classmate from Canada, who gave insight into how international libraries operate compared to in the United States. Hearing different experiences from my classmates helped to broaden my view and understanding of what it means and takes to be a librarian.
What I liked best about online learning was:
Not having to worry about parking! All jokes aside, having my courses fit around my schedule made it very convenient for me.
What I enjoyed most about my experience at the SJSU School of Information was:
Learning new skills that I can apply to my existing work and future work as well!
I plan to use my degree to:
Become a librarian and, hopefully, better my current work place.
Now that I have completed the program, I'm most looking forward to:
Working more towards my goal of becoming a librarian.
