PROFILE

Current residence: Elk Grove, CA, US

I wanted to earn a masters degree because:

I wanted options for growth in my career in Education that kept me still with students but in a more program-related Leadership role.

While earning my degree, my greatest supporters were:

my family! My husband took over so much in our family so that I could attend classes or complete assignments. My daughter asked questions and encouraged me, just as I have her in her K-11 education. My sons told me good job and played with each other when I couldn't entertain them. My family is a rockstar support system!

While in the program, I met classmates from:

Canada, and throughout the United States

What I liked best about online learning was:

it prepared me to assist teachers and staff during the pandemic because I was already Zoom-proficient!

What I enjoyed most about my experience at the SJSU School of Information was:

the amount of ideas I received from classmates, along with my Professors, to embrace libraries not just as a place for books, but for learning in any subject.

I plan to use my degree to:

serve students in connecting them with books and ideas different from their own

Now that I have completed the program, I'm most looking forward to:

no homework!
