The degree of

Master of Library and Information Science

Virtual Convocation
2021

PROFILE

Current residence: Eureka, CA, US

I wanted to earn a masters degree because:

I love learning, and looked forward to becoming a librarian.

While earning my degree, my greatest supporters were:

My patient and supportive husband, Kellen, without whom I could not have achieved this goal. Additionally, my dear friend and constant cheerleader, Brittney; friend/classmate/colleague extraordinaire, Meghann; and my faithful dog and writing buddy, Barley McBones.

While in the program, I met classmates from:

my small hometown and around the globe.

What I liked best about online learning was:

being able to connect with faculty and collaborate with classmates while maintaining a full-time work schedule.

What I enjoyed most about my experience at the SJSU School of Information was:

all of it! Especially the incredible professors, interesting coursework, serving on the ALASC and ASIS&T executive committees, being inducted into the Phi Kappa Phi honor society, and getting to know my classmates.

I plan to use my degree to:

serve my community as a public librarian.

Now that I have completed the program, I'm most looking forward to:

spending time with my husband and our dog, having time for my hobbies again, and my work as a librarian.
